Release date for the 2018 Acura MDX

It takes quite a bit of work for an automaker to see the success that Acura has had with the MDX compact crossover SUV. When the release date for the 2018 Acura MDX arrives at Spitzer Acura, our customers are in for a very special experience. For the new model year, Acura has updated many of the vehicle’s technology features including a faster dual-screen touchscreen, added smartphone compatibility and made AcuraWatch™ standard across the crossover SUV’s five-trim grade lineup. The first shipment of the 2018 MDX from Acura is due to arrive at Spizter Acura in the next few days. Acura will also be releasing a new hybrid version of the MDX that should arrive this winter.

What will I get with the 2018 MDX?

Among the elements that will remain the same for the 2018 Acura MDX is the 3.5-liter, V-6 engine making 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. Drivers will have two drivetrains to consider, front-wheel-drive (which is standard) and the Super Handling-All-Wheel-Drive® (SH-AWD) system. From there both drivetrains are separated into five trim grades: Base, Technology, Technology and Entertainment, Advance and Advance & Entertainment. Some of the available features that can be found across the various versions include the Surround-View Camera system, heated steering wheel as well as keyless entry and ignition.

New tech features

Acura has chosen to make smartphone integration standard on each version of the 2018 Acura MDX. This means potential owners with Android and Apple devices will be able to use many of their favorite applications from Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. The vehicle’s updated infotainment system is controlled by a new capacitive touchscreen interface that is reportedly 30 percent faster than the previous resistive type of touchscreen.

The best way to prevent accidents is to not have them. To support this idea, the automaker has chosen to make the full suite of AcuraWatch™ driver assistance system standard across all versions of the 2018 MDX.
