Refined Performance

MDX: The 2023 Acura MDX comes standard with a 3.5-liter V6 making 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque.

Acura also offers the MDX with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 (MDX Type S) that develops 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Each engine is coupled with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard in the base engine; all-wheel drive is available. The MDX Type S comes standard with all-wheel drive.

RX: The 2023 Lexus RX is powered by an array of engines, starting with a base turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit that develops 275 horsepower. Lexus also offers a hybrid engine consisting of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with electric motors for a combined 246 horsepower. Also, there’s a high output hybrid engine configuration that combines a turbocharged 2.5-liter and electric motors for 367 total horsepower.

If you want something else, Lexus has a plug-in hybrid powertrain setup that makes 302 horses. An eight-speed and continuously variable automatic transmissions are available. Front-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive is available.

Exciting Interior Features

MDX: The 2023 MDX has a well-appointed interior with a wide range of features ranging from an available heated steering wheel to power heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, etc. In terms of cargo space, the seven-seater has 16.3 cubic feet of space behind its third-row seats, 39.1 cubic feet behind its second-row seats, and 71.4 cubes with the third and second rows folded down.

RX: Lexus hasn’t released full details about the RX’s interior. However, we expect it to be premium and well-equipped. Also, the only available model so far is a two-row, five-seater RX configuration, which Lexus says offers more room and cargo space than the outgoing model that provides 18.4 cubic feet of room behind its second-row seats and 56.3 cubic feet with the second row folded down.

Intuitive Technology

MDX: The 2023 MDX has an intuitive infotainment system with a 12.3-inch display, a touchpad controller, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, HD radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, wireless device charging, and a nine-speaker sound system. Acura also offers optional extras such as navigation, additional USB ports, as well as a 12-, 16-, or 25-speaker ELS audio system.

RX: The 2023 Lexus RX will be offered with a 14.0-inch infotainment touchscreen alongside Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. A navigation system and a Mark Levinson stereo system will be optional.
