Turbocharged for Plenty of Power

The 2021 Acura RDX is an attractive luxury compact SUV with plenty of pep under the hood. With a standard turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC VTEC engine, it delivers an impressive 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.

Acura offers two available trims, one with front-wheel drive and the other with Super-Handling (SH) all-wheel drive.

Both trims come standard with the same 2.0L engine, and they both come with a 10-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift Paddle Shifters for added fun on the road. The front-wheel-drive RDX gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 22 city/28 highway while the all-wheel-drive version gets an EPA-estimated 21city /27 highway MPG.

The RDX comes standard with four drive modes: Comfort, Snow, Sport, and Sport+. They offer drivers a balance between comfort, safety, and performance.

Acura offers the 2021 RDX in two trims with similar features, but provides several packages for added technology, styling, and driver’s assist systems. The base trim of the RDX comes standard with several popular safety features. Highlights include Collisions Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Followers, Lane Keeping Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation System, and more.

Standard Features and Optional Packages

Both trims also come with the popular Multi-View Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines. Optional packages include more driver-assistive features like Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Information, and a Surround-View Camera System.

Inside, the RDX trims offer comfortable Sport Seats with leatherette trim. Drivers who add packages like the A-Spec Package get upgraded Sport A-Spec Seats with premium perforated Milano leather with contrast stitching and piping. The standard front seats are heated and offer 12-way adjustability.

The 2021 Acura RDX interior comes standard with a leather-wrapped steering wheel that features several controls like Bluetooth®, cruise control, and several audio buttons and rollers. The rear seats have 60/40 folding capability for added cargo space.

The 2021 Acura RDX specs stand out from the crowd when it comes to infotainment and technology. The standard trims Keyless Access with Acura Personalization along with a push-button start.

However, drivers who want even more technology can add the Technology Package with Acura Navigation with 3D View, Traffic Rerouting, rear-seat USB ports, 12 speakers, and the Acura/ELS Premium Audio. For more tech, drivers can add the Advance Package that includes 16 speakers and the Acura/ELS Studio 3D Premium Audio System, and a 10.5-inch Head-Up Display.

While the standard trims come with plenty of choice features, Acura offers three packages for drivers who want more.

The Technology package adds more infotainment features and driver’s assist features. The A-Spec Package upgrades the interior appointments and adds more driver’s assist features. For the ultimate in tech and infotainment, the Advance Package has it all including a Head-Up Warning, Surround View Camera, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. All RDX packages include a panoramic moonroof and ambient lighting.
